Welcome

Welcome to the official website of the Woodworkers Club of Houston!  WWCH is a 501(c)(3) organization, comprised of men, women, young, old, master woodworkers, beginners, professionals, and amateurs, of diverse races, creeds and cultures, who share a common love of the art and craft of woodworking.

The objectives of WWCH are to promote woodworking by providing an educational forum for the exchange of ideas to help members and the public learn and improve woodworking skills and techniques and to promote safer woodworking habits and conditions. This education takes place at Club meetings as well as community outreach programs. WWCH also creates woodworking items, primarily toys for children, and donates these to other charitable organizations.

WWCH holds monthly meetings at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, located at 2003 W 43rd St, Houston, TX 77018.  The monthly meetings are usually held on the second Saturday of each month, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., subject to occasional change.  See the Events Page for the most current information regarding any schedule changes.

In addition to the monthly general Club meetings, WWCH sponsors meetings and activities of multiple subgroups that share interests in various specialized areas of woodworking, which are held at different times, typically at the personal shops of different Club members.

Would you like to learn how to make a charcuterie board, build toys for the kids/grandkids, or design and build a dining room table, even if you have never touched a table saw or hand plane?  There are Club members who are willing and able to share their knowledge and experience with you in accomplishing those goals.  Are you an experienced craftsperson who would like to associate with others that share your passion, and/or would like to share your craft with others?  There’s a place for you in WWCH.

WWCH extends a warm invitation and welcome to explore our website, visit a meeting and join our fellowship of sawdust-makers.  I hope to see you at a meeting, soon.

Jim Price,
President
